Hi everyone,

We are conducting planned network maintenance on Thursday, January 13, 2011. The maintenance will start at 7:00 AM PST (3:00 PM GMT) and will last about 2 hours. Players on our European servers may get disconnected and be unable to log in during the maintenance window. Thank you for your understanding!

Planned Finish: Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 9:00 AM PST (5:00 PM GMT)

I still have my 3mod air wand. It´s a little annoying that the maintenances are in the afternoon for us euros, But I guess it must be done in the american work hours, so we will have to live with it and instead be happy that the servers get some care

ah maintenance....good thing since lots of the europeans have been having issues recently, so I hope they get a new server or something.
(good thing I will probably be sleeping when it happens so no skin off my nose!)

It could be to support infrastructure updates, including new hardware and services, to eventually support Guild Wars 2. That would all need to be in place and tested well in advance of a larger closed beta, as well as a subsequent open beta.

Hope not, I have a 3 mod Channeling wand in storage and I haven't got round to making a Rt to use it yet.

Doubt it, as far as I can recall they didn't take the servers down for Sorrow's Furnace, WiK or other big updates.

Yeah but all those updates did not changed primary functions of the game! Full Heroes is a new implementation and so the server files may be changed (a lot) and streaming update might not be enough as it's a server side change not a client side!

I wouldn't be too hopeful.

One of the big features of gw is that servers don't need to go offline for changes/updates. I can't think of any big updates that have required it, could be wrong though.

However as errant said it's 2nd thursday of the month so might have something there ^^

I don't think it's an update, they only mentioned Euro servers might be affected. I also think that it's probably to do with the disconnect issues.
